I’m a self-taught painter whose work explores clarity, equilibrium, and the expressive possibilities of color. My hard-edged abstractions conceal energy within order, using a minimal vocabulary capable of great emotional range. Vinyl, tape, and custom-made templates create precise edges, while brushwork and the natural lumps and swooshes of paint provide a counterbalance to formal design. Recently, I’ve embraced softer, biomorphic imagery inspired by the natural world and our place within it. I continually experiment with new ideas and methods, but bright, saturated color remains central, with the hope of creating calm and elation in challenging times.
