Tide Lines

By layering familiar imagery in unexpected ways, Megan Barker creates works that feel atmospheric, tactile and quietly surreal. Her digital mixed media works use a blend of archival imagery, photography, original elements, and painted textures. While building on a foundation of visual storytelling, colour and composition, she also gives ample space for an intuitive and experimental process. Her professional background is in graphic design, and a lifelong passion for art.

This original artwork was digitally made by Megan Barker Created through digital collage, each work brings together original graphic elements, painted textures, and carefully selected public-domain imagery. Through remixing, cropping, layering, recolouring, and transformation, these materials become new compositions that move between painting, photography, and graphic design. The process is intuitive and guided by atmosphere, texture, colour, and the emotional relationships between forms.
